What do choose for web design

We are a web design company and the problem we do face from our customers, especially those ones who have some knowledge of the industry is that they want something which is impossible.

Web design has changed and yes no doubt about that. We no longer have table based sites with GIF animations of the late 90s or early 20s. Today we have several browsers and devices on which our website should run similarly. The customer is worried to lose the visitor in case his site looks distorted on a mobile device.
Hence there is a necessary to address this issue and provide the best consultancy to the customers.

You see there are following types of web design / development methods
Static website : Just basic HTML based website. Only webmasters can edit the same.

CMS : Content management system are one of the leading platforms which offers the website owner to manage their website themselves. Open source performance is indeed remarkable. Joomla, Drupal & Wordpress success stories are enough to explain this.

Custom Framework : This is mostly associated when creating very big websites especially portals. But this is the most flexible way of developing the sites because you can do almost everything. PHP Zend, Ruby on Rails, Cake PHP, DotnetNuke etc. are well know coding framework.
So if a client approaches with no knowledge then its easy for you to provide him the solution. Hence if we want a simple website, you must go for static and if he wants a site which he / she can manage itself then CMS is best. For portals, it’s the framework.

The problem arises if your client says that he wants his website in particular system for eg. a CMS. In one of our case client asked us to design his website in wordpress and once it was done he asked us to implement some dynamic functionalities. As we all know that wordpress is driven by its plugins so it should be available to integrate as per client’s requirement otherwise you have to develop your own which is again a very costly process. Hence we found that the sort of functionality client was asking was not possible with the available plugins which are mostly free on web.

Indeed we have to develop the same in-house which is quite costly or else go for a custom development. So client got mad and asked us how can this be happen and we told him to look for solution with a different firm and after 2 weeks he came back saying that most of the firms are saying that my website must be built in a customized framework, what do you say?

And ultimately he got satisfied because we suggested him the same and we developed his website in custom framework and the wordpress design was used so the money was not lost which was invested earlier.
The moral of the story is that web design is very complex but if a client gives his requirement prior its quite effective as well as inexpensive because a professional design firm can decide as where to go from here. No matter if a client is looking for a simple site or a responsive one, the solution is available for everything, the only thing matters is we must not undertake projects blindly.
