Empowering your website with quality link building

When it comes to internet we cannot leave behind the search engine as it’s the gateway through which anybody can explore the infinite world of information. But how search engine works in delivering the relevant information against the query put in their search boxes.
Well the credit goes to the search engine algorithm. In this post I will refer to google as the primary search engine and its backend functionality. So indeed what happened in late 90s that two guys named Larry Page and Sergey Brin devised a crawler named ‘backrub’ which can download the websites on their servers and then the server could retrieve information against a query. Later it was evolved and termed as Google (which literally a mathematic term for the 100 zeros in a number).
The concept of this algorithm was that it renders information on the basis of backlinks a site posses. In other words it was like a democracy, the maximum votes (links) you have the more the chances of getting yourself on top of search engine result pages. This was appreciated at that time as the website having highest number of votes should be up.
But once it went into the business sector, the entrepreneurs start exploiting this and using certain tricks and hacks to get their site up. So the SEO came into the picture and therefore the link building which is an integral part of ranking even today. As normal votes can be compromised or purchased in fake democracy so the same was practiced in the SEO. The link trading, paid links practice gained height and there was an era where even a spam site can reach on top just by spending few bucks on links.
Hence the search engine was spammed merciless and as a result they were made to do cope this. Several anti-spam filters to track and penalize the black hat seo sites were introduced but still the webmasters were able to trick them too. Ultimately there were google updates introduced. Initially we have caffeine and then some severe hits like Panda, EMD and Penguin which were quite successful. On May 22, 2013 google released another version of penguin.
So now to cope this an individual can do to uplift the site. Well this is not tough but a bit time consuming. You can buy links easily and get on top is of no use. Whether it’s a webmaster or entrepreneur they must understand that SEO is a gradual process and quality does matter. Instead of buying links blindly they must build links keeping the guidelines in mind. I must say that SEO is not dead as lots of people are spreading this rumor. The only thing is that the strategy has changed and we have to cope with the dynamic world as nothing is static.
A website can be leveraged by link building through several ways whether its guest postings, link baiting, viral marketing, social media or even if there are low budgets then getting links from good articles sites is not bad. But the days of link farms, link pyramid, and link wheels are gone and should not be used as it could jeopardize your website.
